Emergency Housing Case Manager
Full-Time (40 hours/week), Hourly, Non-Exempt.

Hourly / Salary Range: $50,149 – $53,831 annually

Be a key part of shaping this future as our new Emergency Housing Case Manager working in the Emergency Housing program in our Housing Department.
Reporting to the Housing Program Manager, the Emergency Housing Case Manager provides peer and crisis counseling, safety planning, community referrals and domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking education to individuals and families residing in the YWCA Silicon Valley’s emergency housing programs. Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Manage a caseload of survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. (caseload range 8-12 households at any given time)
- Manages crisis situations and adheres to safety and program protocols. Provides conflict resolution when needed.
- Support activities related to emergency housing program, including but not limited to, distribution of food and supplies to all program enrollees, coordination of client needs at scattered site locations, direct advocacy and client follow up.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or college course work in human services field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should have knowledge of sensitivity to sexual assault and domestic violence issues, trauma, gender equity and/or other forms of oppression. Understanding and application of program theories such as trauma-informed care, feminist, and anti-oppression/anti-discrimination frameworks are key. May require evening/weekend work.
Desired: Bilingual, bi-cultural and bi-literate skills highly preferred. Spanish, Mandarin, or Vietnamese languages. Prior experience providing case management or advocacy-based counseling highly preferred. Motivational Interviewing skills highly preferred.
Required: Cleared background check (fingerprinting), valid TB test, valid California driver’s license, and auto insurance. Must have completed or be willing to complete a 65-hour California State Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor certification. (Training will be provided). This position requires a Covid-19 vaccination due to the in-person interfacing required, and to promote the health and safety of others in the workplace and our community.
