YWCA’s mission for the support groups is to create a community where survivors are empowered through their unique experiences, forming a safe place for individuals to experience their healing journey together without judgement.

CURRENT SUPPORT GROUPS

Support Group for Survivors of Domestic Violence

Wednesdays @ 11:00am – 12:00pm

Group sessions will focus on self esteem and providing survivors with the tools that they need to break out of certain patterns as well as become more independent. Survivors can look forward to finding tools that can be useful in everyday life and finding a community in which they can relate to.

Virtual Self Care and Awareness Support Group: English

Every other Thursday @ 10am – 11am

This group’s focus is to provide individuals with self care methods and different forms of coming into an awareness of different parts of themselves that affect them in their day to day life. Some of the topics will include ego awareness, self regulation, and healing from past trauma.

Support Groups for Children ages 5-11

Tuesdays @ 4:30pm-5:30pm

In this group we will use this time together to create, learn, and have fun while focusing on emotional awareness and healing. Activities are meant to be engaging,safe,and fun promoting positive emotional well-being. Variety of activities include: Art, imaginative/creative play, reading,and more! Allowing children to express themselves and be themselves.

Support Group for Survivors of Sexual Assault

Wednesdays @ 4:30pm – 5:30pm

The focus of this group is to help survivors heal in a space of community through a unique healing journey and self care methods. Survivors can look forward to finding trust and confidentiality in this group where they can talk about their common experiences and the ways that people heal from sexual assault.

LGBTQIA+ Support Group for Queer & Trans Survivors of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence

Sexual Assault (Ages 18-24): Wednesdays @ 5:00 - 6:00pm

Sexual Assault & Abuse (Ages 25+): Saturdays @ 10:00 - 11:15 am

This group is a confidential space where LGBTQIA+ survivors can feel safe in their intersecting identities. Survivors can connect and support one other as they share about their common experiences and the ways that people heal from sexual assault. our adult group (ages 25+) will also have a focus on domestic violence and healing from abuse.

Support Groups for Youth ages 12-17

Every other Friday @ 4:00pm-5:00pm, virtual

Every other Wednesday @ 4:30pm-5:30pm, in person

In this group we will have discussions and activities focusing on emotional well-being, coping skills, and healing from trauma. This will be a safe place for youth to feel respected, heard, and supported in a community setting. Activities include: journal, art, meditation, and more! This will allow youth to continue practicing self awareness and confidence in their lives!

Support Group for Parents and Significant Others

Every other Thursday, beginning September 9. 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
