Reporting to the Chief Program Officer of Economic Opportunity and Social Justice, the Bilingual Bloom Coordinator is responsible for managing the client dressing program from referral through wardrobe appointments, serving as the primary stylist for clients, coordinating community partnerships, managing inventory across Bloom locations and the Bloom Van, and recruiting, training, and supporting Bloom volunteers. This position plays a vital role in ensuring every client receives an exceptional experience that builds confidence and supports their journey toward economic independence.

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and fashion-minded Bilingual Bloom Coordinator to lead the daily operations of the Bloom program throughout Santa Clara County. Services are delivered through a strengths-based, non-judgmental, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed approach that honors the dignity and self-determination of every client. We are looking for an individual with warmth, empathy, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for serving others. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with people, has an appreciation for fashion and styling, and is committed to providing equitable, client-centered services for individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, including survivors of trauma.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will embrace YWCA’s mission and values while contributing creative ideas, proactive solutions, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Candidates should possess two to three years of experience in customer service, nonprofit services, retail, fashion merchandising, wardrobe styling, volunteer coordination, or a related field. Experience working with diverse populations, maintaining confidential records, coordinating multiple priorities, and utilizing Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual, bicultural, and biliterate fluency in English and Spanish (required)
  • Two to three years of experience in customer service, nonprofit services, fashion, retail, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse populations using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience coordinating volunteers, partnerships, or community programs preferred
  • Knowledge of fashion, wardrobe styling, or personal shopping is highly desirable
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and drive a large cargo van throughout Santa Clara County, including Gilroy, and occasionally to San Rafael, CA

Work hours are primarily Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends based on program needs. This hybrid position requires regular travel throughout Santa Clara County, including Bloom community sites, the San Jose office, and the Bloom store in San Rafael, CA. Delivery of services may occasionally require overtime. Because of the nature of this work, employees should practice healthy self-care and be prepared for the potential of compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.

Program/Department: Community Support North Program/Support Services (pending name to Healing & Justice Department)

Reporting to the Associate Director of Community Support Services, the Bilingual Community Support Advocate (North):

  • Provides direct advocacy, accompaniment, counseling, safety planning, case management, support groups, education, and community referrals to adults and children impacted by sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking both in person and on the phone using a strength-based, client-centered, trauma-informed approach.
  • Effectively advocate for survivors, accompany, and liaise with outside agencies and community organizations, including law enforcement, SART nurses, the District Attorney’s office, social services, correctional facilities, University/College Staff, Title IX, etc.
  • Effectively works with and responds to North County jurisdictions that can include but are not limited to Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Moffett Field, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Stanford, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Cupertino, Saratoga, and San Jose.
  • Manage a caseload of survivors of domestic violence &/or sexual assault; assess advocacy service needs; arrange, coordinate, and monitor the delivery of individualized services
  • Maintain an on-site presence a minimum of two days per week to provide office coverage, including but not limited to responding to walk-in clients, answering and triaging phone calls, providing crisis intervention, and supporting general office and client service operations as needed.
  • Conduct a minimum of two visits a month to the Milpitas Police Department to review police reports, identify survivors, and complete timely, trauma-informed follow-ups to provide crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, referrals, and ongoing support services as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records (hard copy and soft copy) of client services (service plans and goals) and demographics and update records in ETO (Efforts to Outcomes database) on a timely basis.
  • Assists in facilitating and presenting at department trainings, 75hr- training, and community presentations as needed
  • Responds to on-call duties that require a 24-hour shift. This includes evenings and overnights, some weekends, and holidays as part of an on-call rotation.

You must have an understanding of feminism and a strong commitment to social justice. Additionally, an ideal candidate will possess knowledge of and sensitivity to domestic violence and sexual assault issues, trauma, gender equity, and client-centered service provision.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a social services field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Key to success is the ability to be present in a changing work environment; the ability to work independently and as a member of a diverse team with flexibility, initiative, and a sense of humor; and the ability to prioritize effectively and model healthy boundaries with empathy and compassion. Candidates should be competent in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and have experience in confidential data management and record-keeping.

The ideal candidate is a warm, self-starter deeply committed to providing services from a strengths-based, social justice, and anti-oppression framework. Prior advocacy-based counseling and case management experience is a plus. Bilingual, bi-cultural, and bi-literate skills are required (in Spanish).

Work hours are primarily Monday-Friday, and hours are typically 9 am – 5:30 pm with scheduling flexibility determined by the supervisor. Delivery of service may include some evenings, weekends, and overtime to accomplish tasks at hand. Additionally, on-call duties are required during some evenings, overnights, and holidays on a rotating schedule.  Candidate must be within a drivable distance of the North Palo Alto Office, as that will be their primary location. This is an on-site job with the flexibility to work remotely as determined by the supervisor. In-person within the required service area response time based on job assignment. Work includes lifting up to 30 pounds. Frequent local travel to Valley Medical Center, Stanford Hospital, Juvenile Hall, and to law enforcement agencies in Santa Clara County. Reporting to the Associate Director of Clinical Services, the Clinical Supervisor provides trauma-informed, reflective clinical supervision and support for a group of associates/trainees. Assists the Associate Director in developing a trauma-based training program to ensure clients receive quality, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, empowerment-based, and client-centered therapy to promote healing and growth that aligns with the YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley’s mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The Clinical Supervisor must not fail to follow all legal and ethical guidelines established by the Behavioral Board of Science for California and the policies and procedures of the YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley.

Program/Department: Emergency Housing/Housing

Reporting to the Emergency Housing Program Manager, the Emergency Housing Case Manager provides direct advocacy, crisis counseling, safety planning, community referrals, and gender-based violence education to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Additional job responsibilities include managing an assigned caseload of survivors in emergency housing programs, supporting activities related to emergency housing, including but not limited to the distribution of food and basic needs to all program enrollees, coordination of client needs at scattered and site-based locations, and client follow-up.

The ideal candidate is a warm, self-starter deeply committed to providing services from a strength-based, social justice, and anti-oppression framework. Prior advocacy-based counseling and case management experience is a plus. Bilingual, bi-cultural, and bi-literate skills are preferred (Spanish, Mandarin, or Vietnamese strongly preferred).

Work hours are primarily weekdays and weekends. Candidate must be able to work weekends and evening hours as part of regular schedule. Schedule TBD. This position is in person and in the office. Candidates must live within the required service area and have reliable transportation to meet with clients. Delivery of service may include overtime to accomplish the task at hand. Work includes lifting up to 40 pounds. Susceptible to compassion fatigue and/or vicarious trauma.

Required: Cleared background check (fingerprinting), valid TB test, valid 3+ years California driver’s license, reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and auto insurance that meets CA minimum liability. Must have completed or be willing to complete a 75-hour California State Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor certification. (Training will be provided). This position requires a Covid-19 vaccination due to the in-person interfacing required, and to promote the health and safety of others in the workplace and our community.
