The Inspire Luncheon attracts over 1,800 attendees, including corporate and community leaders, elected officials and Bay Area professionals. Funds raised support the agency’s community programs and services that serve more than 18,000 women and families annually.
Each year, we host an influential speaker who is an advocate and ambassador for change. Past speakers have included Susan Rice, Gloria Steinem, Jane Goodall, Helen Hunt, Geena Davis, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Billie Jean King, Alfre Woodard, Janet Reno, Benazir Bhutto, Elizabeth Smart and Anita Hill.
The Luncheon also features the presentation of the YWCA Empowerment Award, which celebrates and honors women in our community who are advocates and ambassadors for change. These women are champions – strong, resilient and dedicated to sharing their journey so that other women will become empowered to do the same.
Your generosity and support at this event ensures that YWCA programs and services continue to change the lives of women and families in our community.
The past year was unlike any other. Emergency shelters exceeded capacity. Jobs were lost. Hate crimes against AAPI people reached disturbing new levels. Violence against BIPOC communities sparked demands for racial justice. Health and economic disparities compounded for women of color.
Join your YWCA at the 2021 Inspire Luncheon and brace yourself for what is sure to be an empowering, inspiring, and fierce conversation with special guest, Tarana Burke.
