Housing Continuum for Survivors
YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley offers a comprehensive housing continuum for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking in Santa Clara County. From emergency shelter to permanent, affordable housing, our full continuum of housing and supportive components allows us to meet the unique needs of survivors and their families.
Our housing continuum is designed to empower a survivor on their healing journey by delivering some or all of our continuum programs, including connection to additional YWCA resources such as therapy, legal services, childcare and/or employability support.
We believe safe, affordable housing is the foundation for healing, empowerment and success.
Housing First
Our team uses a Housing First approach that focuses on getting survivors into stable housing as quickly as possible, then we work to provide the necessary support to help survivors as they rebuild their lives. A Housing First approach allows our support to be flexible and responsive. Housing Case Managers support survivors to develop personal and financial goals and create a plan to maintain housing after continuum services end. Housing Case Managers provide case management, safety planning, housing search support, and connection to community resources.
Through advocacy and empowerment services, prevention and systems change, we help survivors minimize the traumatic aftermath of intimate partner violence, sexual assault and human trafficking by promoting accessibility, safety and choice. We support any person over the age of 18 (and their dependents) who identifies as a survivor of domestic violence, sexual assault or human trafficking who is unhoused or experiencing a risk of homelessness and facing economic instability.
